About
Welcome to Brancaccio Cafè, a hidden gem nestled in the heart of Rome on Via Merulana. This quaint café invites you to enjoy the warmth of Italian hospitality over a delightful array of dishes. Known for its charming outdoor seating, Brancaccio is the perfect spot to savor an affogato, a classic Italian dessert that can be customized to your taste—just as Noelle Snider appreciated the delightful twist of strawberry with hers!
The café's menu features a range of Italian delicacies. While some patrons have noted that prices like the 9€ Amatriciana may lean towards the higher side, the quality of ingredients speaks volumes. You can expect classic flavors and generous portions, as highlighted by Leonardo Girardello's review of their chicken burger, caprese salad, and notably, the freshly baked bread that accompanies your meal.
But what truly sets Brancaccio Cafè apart are its Panini, offered at reasonable prices of around 5€. These sandwiches are praised for their flavor and are a must-try for anyone seeking a quick yet satisfying bite. Not only do they reflect the essence of Italian street food, but they also serve as a lovely precursor to the café's standout gelato. Mio Núñez recommends trying coconut or pistachio gelato—an indulgent treat that can only elevate your experience at Brancaccio.
While the ambiance can sometimes feel a bit casual, with a few quirky moments from staff, the overall vibe of Brancaccio Cafè is one of laid-back charm. Whether you’re looking for a quick snack or a leisurely dessert, the friendly service here generally makes you feel at home, as some guests have noted their appreciative encounters with the staff. Just be mindful of your surroundings when dining outdoors, as Christianus Frederick suggests, to fully enjoy the Italian atmosphere.
Brancaccio Cafè is more than just a place to eat; it’s an experience filled with tempting flavors and inviting company. If you find yourself wandering through Rome, make sure to stop by and indulge in their delicious offerings—your taste buds will thank you!
“ Cute place with out door seating to have an affogato! They do offer it with the standard vanilla but I switched for strawberry. ”
“ Prices are high: 9€ for Amatriciana is too much, the quality is good and the taste is normal, quantity is normal too. we ordered Amatriciana, chicken burger with extra cheese, caprese salad with bufala mozzarella. They also gave us some bread that was actually really good. Probably the specialty are the Panini that had normal prices of 5€ each, but we didn't check them ”
“ We happened by looking for a restaurant to eat at 6:00 pm... Like most restaurants in Italy they mostly open from 7 to 8:30... We don't eat that late... There was a kid sitting on a chair like a bump on a log... Right next to the menu.. we were okay with the choices but the kid did nothing.. No hello no hi so we were just about to leave when very bouncy gent came over and we decided to stay. We were the first there... We choose both the pasta dinners he suggested and were pleased with them his great attitude and attention even as the tables filled to 15 or so people. ”
“ Main dish and dessert are good, no additional service fee, however the surrounding is quite shady, need to be a little careful if you eat outside ”
“ We visited this place several times as their gelato was pretty good. My friends ordered the slushie drink but I had the coconut gelato and it was good. I also tried the pistachio gelato which is also good. I recommend this place to try it. Server was very nice and professional. I wish this place had a area where you can sit down and enjoy your gelato but we took good to go. If they had an area to sit down it wasn't very obvious. ”
